2/3/2007 Monolith Calls It A Day...
As of the 28th February, Monolith have called it a day, and are heading in seperate directions.

13/2/2007 Monolith Update
Its been a while again since i updated the news page, so lets try and recap on whats been going on...

So we Recorded our EP, and still havent got the CD's pressed, we are currently awaiting artwork before we can send it all off to get pressed. Meanwhile its available on myspace to listen to, or alternatively, you can download the lot on bit torrent (don't worry, its completely legal, as we own all rights to the music) it can be downloaded Here.

In other news, we played the Surge Sunday gig, and it went very well, we seemed to be recieved very well, and the calibre of bands throughout the day was outstanding. awesome day all in, and it ran like clockwork.

The gig also got reviewed in Ryans Gig Guide, by 2 different reviewers:

The bits about us are highlighted in yellow.

We are currently working towards getting the CD's pressed and printed, then more gigs should be popping up, So keep watching the gigs page for updates.

In alternate news, i found out someone found our site, who wasnt exactly expecting to find us... I dont know who it was, but sure as hell stumbling on our webite had to have killed the mood he was going for...

see this photo for more info...

Anyways, We'll keep you posted on any other news that comes our way...

4/12/2006 Monolith - Dirty Rock
Dirty Rock is the newest recording from Monolith. With its subtle production, and clichéd vocals which transforms into a somewhat political viewpoint of Joel and Ste.

The guitar work is particularly impressive, as stated from several sources, and vocally we tried some new stuff, for example over-driven vocals, and pan effects, and it came out pretty damn good.

To hear it for yourself, head over to www.myspace.com.

Ciao for now.

20/10/2006 Monolith Rockin'
So, We've been vacant and the website has been under construction for a few months now, so, we've been waiting for a photoshoot of all things to get things underway.

Without giving away too much detail, next year brings promise for Monolith which we have'nt had before.

We are set to record in December, with gigs to follow starting in January, bringing in the new year with some explosive new material.
If you have been around the site and noticed new lyrics and wondered what the f*** they were, thats just it, new songs to be added to the set, including a few possible covers which may be called upon at different times.

Its all very exciting, and almost agonising holding back from hitting the stage, and it has caused upset between the band, but ultimately the wait for our return on the UK rock scene WILL be worthwhile.
Watch this space for further updates, and remember to sign up to the mailing list for the first updates, as we release them on Monolith's progress.

28/8/2006 Monolith's Last Ever Broadway Gig
Tonight Monolith faced probably the hardest gig yet. The gig wasn’t hard to get to, it wasn’t hard to get our stuff to, it was just emotionally challenging.

Just over a year ago, we played our first ever "gig" at The Broadway, and we've gone from strength to strength, always headin "home" to the broadway, and in total, from our overall gigs in whatever lineup we were facing, we have played 40+ gigs at the broadway since the band started in january 2005.

Mick Willetts (Proprioter of the broadway) has been a true gentleman and has become a very good friend of the band, and it’s a shame to see him leave part of himself behind, but we are re-assured that he will be facing bigger and better ventures in the next year and, so we are told, 2007 will be the year that the naton gets grabbed by the bollocks and shown what unsigned bands do, with the grabbing done by Mick…
Of course, that’s enough about bollocks considering Ians condition…

So Tonights gig, an emotional ride, and a great night of live entertainment, every band was spot on and showed the people there how we do things in the midlands, and that’s the way it should be!

The night was a great success and we are honoured to have played one of, if not THE last gig at the broadway, whilst under the control of Mick Willetts.

Keep Rockin'!!!

18/8/2006 Surge Music Review Of Monolith
So today we finally got a review from one of our gigs. The Gig in question is the first gig we had back after our time out from gigging, so the gig in question was the first for 2 months, but as you can read in our myspace blog Here. We had a good night, and someone in the crowd wrote a review on surgemusic.com.

A Direct link to the article can be found here: http://www.surgemusic.com/article.asp/id_88.

7/4/2006 Dans First Gig With Monolith
So, Dan had his first gig with us last night, and by all accounts, it went well, (most of) the song's lyrics were remembered... we all played well, and it was fairly tight... not bad considering we have been out of practise for a while, and dan had like 2 weeks to learn all the stuff (in which time we wrote a new song which was performed last night - Story pt.2)

So, who was there? who wasnt there? why werent you there? if you where there what did you think?

Let us know!

Keep Rockin'

6/4/2006 Monolith's New Bassist
Okay guys, A news update on whats going on with monolith at the moment.

Right, we have been looking for a new bassist, and the search has come to an end. We now have a new bassist by the name of Daniel Evans.

We are having our first gig with him in the band tonight, after only a couple of weeks of practising together. the gig is at the broadway with Silent Trigger, Stoked and Satsumo.

Should all go well, and is promised to be a fairly full room.

Right, Other News, Some of you may know Joel has a nerve problem with his picking hand, and the muscles have wasted away. Joel is set to have an operation in the coming weeks, so there will definately be some downtime for gigs, But dont fret, we plan to use the downtime to get stuff organised, and get a "tour" together by the time joel has recovered from his operation.

The "tour" will most likely consist of playing schools to the students (and thier parents if they are so inclined) and other venues in the midlands (maybe further). So watch this space.

Also, we were planned on going to record this month but due to Joels hand, we have decided to postpone recording until further notice. But dont worry, this will give us the perfect opportunity to get the songs down perfectly.

Right, thats about it for now!

keep Checking the site for updates.

Keep Rockin'
