12/11/2005 Rock and F***ing Roll
I post this nearly a week since the last news.
On saturday something bad happened. just after stu posted the news I drank copious amounts of alcohol and got very sick, so first off, im gonna put a note saying "Drink hard, But in Moderation", i wouldnt wish that on anybody.
Right that out of the way, Tonight we played with Acacia Again, and those guys are quite frankly, the Dogs Danglers, it was a consistently good night and we are gonna try and get some support for those guys again, and we suggest you guys come along, a good night out for all.
Anyways, Just checking in, let u all know im still alive and kicking and to let you know that you should get to our gigs! theyre AWESOME!
Catch You guys later

19/10/2005 Monolith back on track!
After the death to the original lineup, it may have left some people wondering whether Monolith would have got back into the groove.
after playing the broadway jamnight infront of a new group of people and some old, it has been decided that we are back and 100% better.
heavier sound, tighter sound, great show!
Told by many we have improved ALOT, so if you can get down to the show on the 22nd (THIS SATURDAY) at the varsity in wolverhampton!

Cheers for Reading:

21/9/2005 Robert Skipton Leaves Monolith
Right, this is possibly the longest and hardest piece of news I've ever had to post here.

It was brought to the bands attention earlier today by a member of robs old band Haylo that Rob had taken lyrics and riff's from material written by members of Haylo without they're permission for use in our songs. After a few phonecalls we met up with the two members of Haylo that had brought this to our attention and Rob.

Needless to say we were in no way happy to discover we'd been playing other peoples songs over the last year as our own. And after much discussion Rob left Monolith for good and the songs dropped from our set.

At this point I'd like to apologise to our fans and anyone thats supported us in any way over the last year because it feels to me like not only have we been cheated by what Rob has done but you guys have been cheated aswell.

Rob has also apologised for his actions leaving this post on the bands guestbook -

Im sorry that it has turned out this way, and i can understand why. Im not going to hold a grudge with anyone at all.. Im sorry for everyone that turned up 2 our gigs, took our pic and brought the c.d.. As 2 tracks on there are like my old bands and im sorry to tom and rich for what has happened

All i can say is im sorry. Im pretty sure that monolith will carry on and produce material much better than what i could have.

Again sorry

X lead guitarist

rob skipton

As it is we've been forced to cancel our gig with Acacia at Gilberts due to this and I'd like to take the oppurtunity now to apologise to them and anyone that was coming to see us at that gig.

Rest assured Monolith shall continue despite these events, writing of new songs and jamming with a new guitarist begins tommorow, the way things have worked out is unfortunate but whats done is done and we intend to make the best of this.

29/8/2005 Monolith E.P Now Complete!
Hey guys, well its taken 13 hours, it got me out of bed at 7.45am (only with the aid of Jack Daniels I might add!) and its consumed my entire life this weekend but the Monolith's first E.P is now complete!

I'd like to say a big thanks to Robs parents for helping us to get all our gear up to the studio and of course Cheers to Mark and Paul from MPM Records (http://www.mpmrecords.com/) for putting up with 13 hours of gay jokes and general messing about while we recorded :D

Right, I'm off for a cold one and a smoke, hopefully the cd will be packaged up and ready for release in time for our gig on the 3rd of September with Acacia, Hope to see yah there!

Additions from Ste

Just wanna emphasise how much it meant to us GDF's fans stopping meant. Calling such a short notice gig, the few fans we have got, not many could get down, so the fact GDF's fans stuck round and supported us meant alot, so again, thank you for sticking round!

18/8/2005 Monolith Tattoo
Its been a while since I've posted any news but as you may have seen by the picture on our frontpage this deserve's yours and everyone elses attention as its certainly got mine. After our gig at the broadway on monday Night Dan said he was gonna go get the monolith logo from our banner tatoo'd on him on the tuesday afternoon. I don't think any of us quite believed it to start with but after some problems sorting out the right time he appeared at my house this afternoon cash in hand ready to hit the tatoo palour near me, we waited for ste to arrive with the digital camera to capture the moment and off we headed.

Less than an hour later it was complete the pics were taken cigarette's smoked and dan returned home proud of his new ink. Now i've got a few tatoo's and I've been told just how much having ink done on your ribs hurts so major props to him for having the balls to go through with it. Next time you see him at one of our gigs go buy him a beer he blatantly deserve's it.

And now entirely for the record, this tatoo was Dans idea and we didn't force him into anything (we couldn't if we'd wanted to tbh he's a stubborn git) or pay to have it done, it was done on his terms, in his time with his cash.

Lastly a big thanks to the guys at Black Art Tattoo's in Quarry Bank for putting up with us wandering about taking photo's while they worked, consider them recommended if you want a tattoo in the future.

11/8/2005 Welcome Back MONOLITH!
After a 3 week break from gigging, practising, and all round band stuff, the band got together last night and rocked! We got in the practise room, and basically we were tight from the word go, like we hadnt had a break. So after running through the set, we jammed some stuff, of which a song was written, thus enterring "Unforgiven Curse" into our repetoire, a few more jams and it will be good to go.
We have also pulled our finger out after our 3 weeks off and have 5 gigs coming up and working on getting more sorted ASAP we will keep you posted and check the gig section regularly.
Plans have been made and we should have an EP by the gig with Acacia in willenhall. We should be recording on the 26th.
Everything is running smoothly and everyone is having fun.
Keep Rockin'

19/7/2005 Broadway - supporting Silent Trigger
Tonight went well, the band played well and tight with very little f*** ups if any at all. there was a good turnout for monolith fans regardless that alot of people had seen us at the broadway times before. and silent trigger had a good following which helped bring the numbers up in the room.

The balloons, for anyone interested, were for Kayleigh as it was her birthday.

Thanks to all that came down to the broadway, and thanks for trigger for asking for us to support, hopefully we can play with u guys again.

The plan now for Monolith, is go on holiday, relax, get home practise a couple of times and hit the studio for our first EP.

Keep Rockin'

Ste
